At 3.47m long, the 108 is around the same length as the new Twingo, and weighs in at just 840kg.

Power is provided by 50 and 61kW three-cylinder engines, each mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard.

The new 108’s cabin has yet to be revealed, but Peugeot promises a design and feel that evokes larger offerings. Material quality is also claimed to be greatly improved.

Watch for the new 108 to debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, where it will be joined by platform mates - once again - the Toyota Aygo and the Citroen C1.
